Terms of Service

These terms apply to EcoShade at ecoshade.org, including the free farmer app, B2B portal, and related services. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using EcoShade at ecoshade.org, including the farmer app, B2B portal, auditor and agronomist tools, government dashboard, and public site, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
We may update these terms with reasonable notice by email or in the app. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

2. About EcoShade

EcoShade is a precision agriculture platform built in Tbilisi, Georgia. Farmers get AI crop scans, satellite vegetation indices, weather and epidemic forecasts, carbon tracking, and farm management tools at no charge for core features.
EcoShade earns revenue from B2B partnerships, carbon facilitation fees, and marketplace commissions. We do not paywall core farmer functionality.

3. Accounts and Roles

  • Provide accurate information at registration and finish onboarding before using core features.
  • Keep your login credentials secure.
  • Do not create more than one farmer account for the same person.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to register.
  • Roles such as carbon buyer, insurer, agro-dealer, auditor, agronomist, government, or admin are assigned by EcoShade or your organisation admin and can be revoked.

4. Free Farmer Access

Farmers use EcoShade free of charge for crop analysis, farm and plant management, treatment recommendations, satellite data, weather, epidemic forecasting, and carbon tracking. We do not plan to charge farmers for these core features.

5. AI Recommendations

AI output is advisory only. It is not a substitute for a qualified agronomist. Every recommendation passes through seven hardcoded safety rules, but you remain responsible for field decisions. Read our AI Disclaimer for models, confidence scoring, and known limits.

6. Marketplace

  • Products are listed and sold by independent partner stores, not by EcoShade.
  • Delivery and fulfillment are the partner store's responsibility.
  • EcoShade connects farmers and stores but is not a party to the sale.
  • Availability, pricing, and product quality are set by the partner store.

7. Carbon Credits and MRV

EcoShade helps farmers measure and document carbon activity and connect with accreditation partners and buyers. EcoShade is not an accreditation body and does not issue verified carbon credits on its own. MRV tooling in the app supports measurement and reporting. Fees may apply when EcoShade successfully facilitates a transaction.

8. B2B and Partner Services

  • Carbon buyers, insurers, and agro-dealers access dedicated B2B areas for marketplace listings, anonymised risk data, and related tools under separate commercial terms.
  • API access, where provided, must not be shared or used to re-identify individual farmers.
  • We may rate-limit or suspend access for abuse, security risk, or breach of contract.

9. Data Ownership

You own the data you upload or generate on EcoShade, including crop photos, farm records, treatment logs, and carbon documents. EcoShade may use anonymised aggregated data to improve the platform and B2B regional insights. We do not share identifiable farmer data with third parties without your consent.

10. Prohibited Conduct

  • Bypassing Row-Level Security or accessing another user's data.
  • Reverse engineering, scraping, or abusing the scan pipeline or APIs.
  • Uploading malware or unrelated content.
  • Using the platform for non-agricultural purposes.
  • Sharing credentials or API keys with unauthorised people.

11. Limitation of Liability

EcoShade is provided "as is". We are not liable for crop loss, treatment outcomes, rejected carbon packages, or marketplace disputes. Our total liability to you is limited to fees you paid EcoShade in the past twelve months (zero for farmers on free access).

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia, together with mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence where they apply. Contact support@ecoshade.org first to resolve a dispute. If it remains unresolved after 30 days, either party may bring the matter to the courts of Tbilisi, Georgia.
